Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is such a great unit that ive had already for two seasons and yet each time i take it out on a trip i feel like ive learned something new. i will be posting hints tips and tricks and screenshot interpretations as i grow with this unit. hopefully we can all learn from each other on the same or similar units.

I like that unit Ken;; might eventually get me one to!!

i originally paid 699.00 for it and got 150 dollars worth of rebate... now i see them listed below 500.00 but i wish it was a HDS unit ...but ive been happy with it catching fish.

I was thinking about the Elite 5 or the HDS 5 Gen2. Great models to have. Of course, the upgrading bells and whistles are a killer on the budget.

i was looking at the hardware burden of the structurescan accessories wow! your kayak would be leaning to one side.lol... two transducers!

Yep. Too many hardware, and total weight can mount to 20lbs easy.

the adjustable ram mount was a great addition.

Ram mount is perfect for high rising displays, as well as rod holder. I have Scotty's display mounts and rod holders on mine. Extremely sturdy and they have taken quite a beating.

i am to amazed on the strength of this hardware. i also recommend them highly

Thanks Ken. Although the units may have different names and manufactures they all have a lot of the same options.

It's all about how much you want to shell out, and for which bag of mixed options. We need to come up with a compiled list of MUST HAVE vs Great to Have as Extra for different crafts.

From there, we can create a side-by-side listing of the slightly older and current units..that don't blow the budgets.

school of bluegill moving under the boat while anchored.

I'm assuming your running a fairly slow chart speed here.
