I love my humminbird finders Ken but have to admit I think the picture quality is better on the Lawrence.

Dick… I know what you mean about the older humminbird models… this is a brand new product in 2015… voted brightest and clearest screen , best in electronics “icast 2015”… it is an amazing screen.

Always strengths and weaknesses on both side of the fences. SI on this comes with a sacrifice of vivid structural scan, without that TotalScan package.

Leo... i have so much time devoted to the mapping on the Lowrance elite 7 HDI it makes it tough to give up...

i really like the mapping now on the Humminbird ... with auto chart pro pc you can produce a chart in minutes and not wait for a cloud based program to finish your map such as Lowrance... some times it took days to get my maps finished.

now ... the helix 9 model has autochart live which is awesome... true on unit mapping but i am struggling with the price jump from the helix 7 model.

Check out Jet.com you can grab a triple15 coupon code if you are a new user and pick one up for less that 580 shipped.

last week retail locally was 699.00 ... just called a few shops they just dropped their prices to 599.00...WHOOOP!!

Oh yeah the 7 is awesome still don't have it all figured out yet. Definitely better than the 5 I had on the yak.

Craig... i knew you had the Helix 5.... did you end up trading up?... do you have the Side imaging model?

I did and I do. Super sweet

that is awesome!... have you created any maps yet?

i cant wait to get my hands on the Si ... less paddling in the kayak to find the fish!

I haven't I did just pick up the Humminbird Lake Maps chip for my area. I've never used electronics before so I'm working through my learning curve

Glad humminbird is working on better graphics a long time coming. The units themselves are good and do what there suppose to do like I said just needed better graphics Let me know when you get yours about the graphics.
