Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

We have 8 to 9" of solid ice here in Central CT.  Got out on Friday and Monday and did pretty well.  Lots of gills over 9" up to 10.5".  Yellow Perch from 11" to 14.5" and Largemouth to 15", which was a thrill on 1 lb. line and a tiny tungsten hair jig.  Of course we ate like kings as well.  Fish came from 7 to 30' of water, most were in 24-26'.  The best perch and biggest bluegill (hybrid) all were caught on a diamond eye jig tipped with a couple waxworms.  The ice is thick enough that we are probably going to have safe ice through early to mid march.  Here are a few photos from Friday and Monday>
