Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This Friday was my first fishing excursion for 2016. Rig used was a Mr Crappie nine foot telescopic pole, Asso 2# test as well as  Owner #10 mosquito hooks. As usual no float but a line indicator. I fished from the bank in a small highly stressed county park pond in an urban setting. Stopped counting after 50+ fish and most were in the 5-8 inch range. Bait of the day was Hot Dogs.

Don't think I'll ever go back to a rod or reel since this method is simpler. Love the direct connection to the fish.

I was thinking the same today, Joe. I've been catching fish on lures and flies, but I caught myself longing for that connection, too.

Amen brother, I think for my next trip I'll try a simple handline .
