Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

If you read the posts and check out the photo's, you might get the idea that SoCal Panfish hatched from the egg weighing 12oz. I spent the day on Diamond Valley Lake (www.dvlake.com) yesterday. We caught a lot of panfish. This one is typical:

Russ is going to kill me when he finds out I posted this picture. He is CatfishRuss on the local boards and recognized as THE local catfish expert. We also got a bunch of catfish but they are off-topic on this board.

I really want to fish DVL sometime soon, I hear it's great bass and panfishing.

There are some gills much larger than those in DVL. But those show that the future will be good there..lol

The stripers are the big buzz right now but the gills are the real prize. Fish the steps..

DVL does have some monster gills and redear.  I've been broken off on 6lb test.  Definitely a great lake to fish for pan fish.
