I am glad to see the discussion go on and take nothing personal!
Well, only 108 more post here till we take over most replies slot. I did reply to your real discussion, talked about beds. I fish some natural cypress lakes occasionally in NW Florida. Heavy tree growth in the shallow water. Black as india ink the water is. Even the gills are black. Your hand is black after unhooking them. No way to find a bed there except accidentally. I lucked up and did just that in the lake with the least trees. Big bedding area in about 6 ft of water. Can't see anything, just going by the male concentration, the bulls peeing and the peacock colors. I'm sure I hamper my efforts by rarely using spinning gear or fly rods. I have them with me, just can't leave my bream busters and crickets alone. I could cover more ground and reach farther places with the other tackle, but then it seems more like work. Oh well.
