Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Has anyone used the little Salmo Chubby Darter other than thru the ice?  Seems like it would be a great vertical jigging bait for spring, summer and fall.  Tip the front hooks with waxworks or maggots and start jigging..

No one has used this bait?  No replies yet..?..

I've seen it mentioned in In-Fisherman a few times, but I have not yet tried it.  Sorry.

Great bait that commands a great price... the Lindy darter is almost identical with a couple dollar discount. I use them thru the ice vertical jigging. I lost two already to the first two fish i hooked I’m assuming they were pike.

I lucked out last year in the middle of ice fishing season i got a handful at a  greatly discounted prices.

I never tip em because it greatly reduces the vibrating action.

On the ice I basically use them as a decoy working the bait in an adjacent hole brings the fish in and they refocus on my jig n bait.
