Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Got a pond full of these + giant water beetles. If someone knows what these bugs are I would appreciate it so I can make a fly to try and match the hatch.I have a pond full of these.

I knew I had bugs but not so many. Plus 1000's of bullfrog tad poles.

These are 1/4 to 1/8 inch long.

I wish I could help.  Maybe a generic Gold-Ribbed Hare's Ear, or a Copper John, sizes 16 or smaller?  Not sure if you'll be able to tie something that small.

Also, Mr. Twister has a soft-plastic nymph pattern that closely matches what you have, in a variety of colors.

Can't really help on the tadpoles.  From what I understand, most tadpoles produce a noxious toxin, and fish won't touch them.  However, when they change into Frogs, if there are any LMB's in that pond, start fishing topwater frogs!

Allen did you know what the bugs are.

Unfortunately, no.  Wish I did.

They look like stonefly nymphs fish love them
