Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Where did you all come from? It was exciting to see such a good influx of new members, but I found it interesting to see so much in a single day. Were we featured somewhere?

John Wilkins is a wealth of knowledgs regarding slip floating and all aspects of  bank Fishing.Check him out and listed to his blogtalk radio program if you get  a chance.

Thanks for the assist John

Heh heh, you bet David.

Im thinking maybe because I referred to him as "Johnny," he didn't turn up in a search.

If you listen to his podcast radio show, that's how they refer to him: " And heeeeeeere's your host - Johnny Wilkins!"

So I didn't think to call him anything else. ;-)

Am I still a newbie Bruce..LOL.....Roll Tide Roll

Looks good for the Tide making the BCS championship.  But what happens to LSU if they lose to Georgia?  Would Okie State move ahead of them?  Seems weird that there is a chance LSU could meet Alabama in the National Championship game---with neither of them actually winning the SEC.  Those Bulldogs could sure throw a monkey wrench in things.

Don't know what would happen but it would shake up the whole can of bluegill bait I think..Some are saying it is not fair that Bama does not have to do nothing but wait for the ending and they still have a shot at the National Title..We need play offs I think instead of these bowl games.. As you know only one The BCS games even counts as far as a National Title but if we had play offs even Houston would get a shot at a championship..

One thing is for sure....to anybody who's watched football this year knows that LSU and Alabama are two of the best teams---maybe EVER to play in the same conference and the same year.  Very impressive.  In 1971, Nebraska had what many have called the best college football team ever, and Oklahoma and Colorado finished the polls #2 and #3 that year.

It's going to be a fun Holiday season...LOL........ but I had rather be jerking Bluegill

Hello!

I originally found out about this website from the In-Fisherman article a few years ago.  I've been lurking since then.  I finally decided to join.

I hail from Sapulpa, OK.  Right on Route 66.  My Dad got me started fishing when I was just a boy, with an original Zebco 33 on an old fiberglass rod.  Now, I go out chasing fish from the bank and with my kayak.  I'm usually after catfish, but will readily accent anything that bends my pole.  I have a few bluegill and crappie spots nearby, and will take my kids out bank fishing there.

I mentioned it in my profile, but it bears repeating here:  I have a good honey-hole of a sunfish lake about 15 miles from home.  It's in Bristow, OK.  It's a "city-lake", used as a water source and recreation facility.  No "city permit" needed, just a state license.  It's clear water, weeds skirting the shoreline everywhere, and lots, and LOTS, of sunnies.  I've caught decent Bluegills, along with Shellcrackers (Red-Eared Sunnies) and Green Sunnies that go 1 1/2 lbs.

Welcome to Big BlueGill Allen. You will enjoy this site, especially with all your Oklahoma neighbors here.

I was looking for a site that featured Bluegill's a site that share photo's, information, having 2-day's looking I finally found this one. This site is great, friendly people, and have ton's of information for me to become a little more better gill angler. Well Im from South New Jersey 20mins North of the Delaware Bay. Where I fish some area's are out fished and makes it hard to catch bass in some area's rarely people fish for gill's so I have all the edges and lily pads, overhang's for me lol.  There is one place I fish where you can't catch nothing from to bass, pickerel, and gill's every1 has been keeping fish which i don't do. All my fish I catch I release all!

Tight Lines!
