Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I so want to go for some gills tomorrow, but we had a hard rain all through the night last night. Will muddy water put gills off of the bite? I know trout don't feed much in those conditions.

What I would do is use worms  and find a inlet pipe .,when it's muddy . I just happen to have that situation at my home lake and have been catching a lot of  fish especially during or after it rains. Gills ,Pseeds White and Yellow Perch ,  Bass, a few Bullheads and a nice 13" Crappie today at an inlet Pipe casting from shore ..

NITE CRAWLERS !!!  MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAITE !  USE IT ;; AS A TIP ON JIGS;; OR ; BY ITSELF ON A HOOK ! AS MY VERY GOOD FRIEND;; THE MUSIC MAN SAID;; AROUND INLET PIPES IS EXCELLENT;; IF NOT; CHECK OUT ROCKY AREAS  GO;; KIND OF DEEP ; WORK YOUR WAY; TO SHALLOWER WATER.

Bruce… I fish mainly reservoirs close to my home… but when that big rain hits I avoid them by hitting the natural lakes or ponds a bit further away. Natural lakes with no inlets have basically no detrimental effects in water quality after a big rain. Sudden muddying of the water has always resulted in poorer fishing results with me. Sometimes its better to go the extra mile to that “clearer” lake. Good Luck!
