Do you love big bluegill?

As excitement is generated with the upcoming Bluegill peak in many areas, I was just wandering if there were any members that would like to share a favorite fishing trip they take every year or used to go as a child that has created a lifetime memory. For many anglers I know, these outings are the cornerstone of their love for fishing....

       My wife is always ready to go ---- she says just give her a days notice.   Sometimes she is pushing me to go ---- especially crabbing. 

I hear you on the goggle-eye and #1 jumbos Wag......My wife Helen doesn't fish but we have a great time Crabbing every Summer and love to eat them......

Not two pounds but some solid Warmouth from a honey hole.......

# 1 Jimmies are a ton of fun Wag and great to eat....Boiled crabs, Crab cakes or Gumbo!!!!

I usually catch then on spinnerbaits and cranks. They are not vary shy I think there on the top of the panfish chain as far as being aggressive.

The best fishing trip i went on was with my dad a couple of summers ago. We went for four days to Arkansas, we just went to some state parks there and tried to fish. We honestly didn't have much luck in the beginning, but i did see some huge alligators on a river we fished.  A day or two later we went and fished at Cossatott river state park or something like that, and i climbed up on some huge rocks and caught some small smallmouth. Either way i was excited, because i haven't caught very many of those since they don't have any where i'm from.  Before we left, i did some looking on the internet and found Cotter Trout Dock where they had the guided trout fishing trips, this was kind of a last resort incase we didn't do very well. So we had one day left and decided to make the drive up into northern Arkansas and go on a guided trip. And man, it was a blast. Fishing on the White river, catching rainbow and brown trout. It was extra cool because i've never caught any of those before. It might not have been the most fish caught, but driving through the beautiful scenery and seeing those huge gators, and seeing a snake eating a fish too big for it. man it was great.

    WOW ---- just the scenery and wildlife is worth the trip alone.    That's what I always tell my wife when fishing -- we don't have to catch anything,  just being on the water with the scenery / wildlife is plenty enjoyment for me --- catching fish is a bonus.  I've been to Arkansas but never got off the interstate (my lost) it looks like all the good things I heard about it.   Great video.

Chris, I glad you had a chance to sample some of the waters here in Arkansas, we are blessed with several different kinds of waters for different types of fish. People come from all over the world to fish the White River, a premier trout fishery,I personally have friends that come from Oklahoma for me to take them smallmouth fishing on an isolated river in north Arkansas Sounds like you had lots of fun and thats what it's all about, Hurry  back. Me too, and i can't wait to go back up there. It was amazing. I really want to go back to the cossatott and white rivers, and try the buffalo river, heard there was good smallmouth in there. So much fun!

Chris really great memories and I'm so glad you shared them with us. That's something you will have forever that nobody can take from you. Your Dad sounds like a great guy taking time sharing it with you and I know you learned much. Them our memories you will cherish forever. Like your picture's and what really set is off was your short Video. You done a great job of putting it together something I should learn cause I have a ton of super 8"s I have to put on DVD's myself. Thank you for sharing that special time with us.

He's pretty much the man, haha. You should get those super 8's onto dvd! That'd be really interesting! 

That's what I want Chris. I have so many I don't think I can afford to get them done professionally so I have it on my bucket list of things I have to do.
