Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

ok so I went out Saturday morning, sun all day with few clouds passing by, my fishing partner (neighbor man) was having more success with his choich of lure than I. I was getting visibly frustrated and with 3 poles and 3 different color setup and size lures it felt like I just couldn't get it right. Always sticking with either a #2 or #4 sweede I didn't have a #3. I just didn't have that bluegill looking lure that the neighbor man had, and to think I gave it to him cause I was always doing so well with my #2 copper pimple. The gills were biting so soft that we both had to concentrate with 1 pole. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THIS SITUATION ? a) have a beverage of choice b) ask for your lure back c) try everything in your tackle box d) all of the above? PLZZZZ any advice taken, serious or comical , I will read all with amusement. OH !!! and has this ever happened to you???

Let him catch all the fish, then take the cooler and run!!!
Hey Dano...I think we have all been there a time or two...when one guy in the gang is slayin em and everyone else is catching nothing. I have a friend who is like that with shad fishing, that is, he usually goes 2 or 3 to everybody elses 1. He'll give you his lures, give you his spot, even give you his rod and reel! then, he'll take your outfit, the one you've caught two fish on all day, and start knockin em silly with your stuff, while you still can't seem to catch them with all of his 'help'. Sheeeesh!

Those days are just bound to happen!
There are 2 sides to every story and yes I was having alot of fun with my favorite "orange and banana" spoon last Saturday. Yes, Dano was nice enough to give me this lure recently. And yes, Dano wasn't having as much fun despite throwing about 10 different presentations at 'em.

But he doesn't talk about how I tried to keep his spirits up. After I had about a dozen keepers in the basket I told him, "Don't worry about catching any fish today, I'll catch 'em all."

Kidding aside, Dano is the most upbeat and creative fisherman I know. He would fish with a circus parade if he could figure out how to tie it all on. That's why I was kind of skeptical when he started fishing gills with the little spoons. But he made me a believer when he outfished my father-in-law and me a few weeks ago.

So now he wants the Orange and Banana back? mmmuahahahahah!
Sorry my friend, not til you tell me where you got it.
