Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anybody have an experience with the Coleman Crawdad? Somebody's selling one locally with a trailer and a bunch of accessories. Looks nice in the pic but before I drive 60 miles to check it out in person, hoping for an opinion or two. Seems really hard to find reviews of them online.

Thanks!

Something else associated with freeboard is the angle of the sides, i.e., from the chine to the gunwale. On boats considered very stable, this angle is pronounced. I notice on these plastic jons that the angle is almost vertical or 90 degrees from the bottom.

Still stable platforms, the more weight you add the more the boat tends to sink by the freeboard. Hmmmm.... food for thought....

I currently have a Coleman Crawdad and it comfortably floats me and one of my sons (I'm 5'6", 205, my largest son is 5'10", 210) and a color, fishing gear, etc. with no free board issues. Easy to maneuver (we row it everywhere) and has a reasonably shallow draft for use near shore. The only issue I have is the same issue with all flat bottom boats: the tiniest bit of wind will scoot you right across the water!

Good to know. Thanks.
