Do you love big bluegill?
In the middle of a heat wave in coastal North Carolina….surface temperatures have climbed to 83 degrees…..with the Buck moon tonight….the shallow sunfish peak will end by the middle of the month as temperatures climb to near 90 pushing fish out to deeper and cooler water

Agree John…..I’ve fished in this spot more than a hundred times and I don’t remember a time when I didn’t catch fish on this flooded cane…….it’s a fish magnet and prominent around the Albemarle………
Looks like a great place to use a Tabbert Cricket or Ant !
Good eye Bruce……these fish are engineers……they remove all other materials and don’t stop until they have just sand and/or gravel……
Cool. I can see one without enlarging the picture.
Good eye Jack…..I’m not sure how often you see redbreasts where you’re fishing….we have a couple areas where they’re growing pretty good………
Looks like a bed about 6 foot off of the port transom side there.
If you zoom into this dark tannic water you may be able to see the lighter sandy spots from the pod of Redbreast…..with a few pumpkinseeds mixed in….
