Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The blog post Confused Old Man got me to thinking about blogs. To my way of thinking, blogs are stories you write about things of interest to you, on a regular or irregular basis. You could add to it every day or several times a day. Or once in a blue moon. I've thought of keeping a journal or log of my fishing activities, just never started it. After Confused Old Man, I realized I could keep it right here on BBG.com. So could you. I'm thinking of creating a seasonal blog about every trip I go fishing. Maybe a quarterly one named for the seasons. Boogieman's Spring 2010 Fishing Log Blog. You can create it so that anyone, just your friends or just you can see it and /or comment on it. It's easy, just start a blog, name it for however you plan to keep a fishing log and all the who can view options are right there at he bottom of the page. Once you set your options, you can come back and edit your blog as often as you wish. For instance, you can describe your most recent trip, whatever info you might want to be aware of at a later date. Date, day, times on and off water, name of water, where on the water you fished. How did you do, what did you catch them on, whatever you think you might want to review at a later datel Like next year this time of year.

Then, post it. Next time you want to add something, go to the blog and click edit blog. Then you can start at the bottom just continuing with your next trip date and info, or add something you remembered about the trip you already wrote about. You can add pictures of the day as well.

Has anyone tried anything like this, and did it come in handy? What do you think about open to all or private? What kind of info do you think would be a must?

I track the following in a spreadsheet:
Date, Time of Day, Body of water, Species 1 name, number caught, avg weight, same data for 2nd and 3rd species, description of structure, presentation, lure, bait, water clarity, water depth, water temp, sunshine conditions, wind, barometer, moon phase, remarks

Not all that data are going to be relevant but I sure am going to have fun sorting and graphing once I have a couple of years data.
I've got A spreadsheet very similar but I just don't keep it up to date. I guess it's a habit development and I took the road MOST traveled. I do have a habit of coming onto BBG.com several times a day, even after I'm tired from a day of gillin'. Maybe I'll do better with a log blog on here. Maybe not!
I too have a spread sheet I use for my pond. Simular to Jims. It help me keep track of my fish growth in my pond. I'm into a personal blog and reading what and whow others are doing.
