Yous right John if you want bulk no doubt bucktail is the way to go. I'm not fond of bucktail when I use it in my flies is splays out all over the place and for me just hard to work with. Not saying I never use it but if I can substitute it I will.

Marabou is a favorite along with Buck tail and Squirrel Tail .I think bulk wise I like Buck tail and ST better but Marabou is great.

Thanks Dick .I have no set proportions I am careless but enjoy catching on something i put together and of course saving money appeals to me also.

I like that tie John. Kinda looks like the bomber I tie but the feathers are longer.
