Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

What is your prefered way to fish the Hard water.

I use babits tipped with eyes or corn grubs on a ultra light ice rod.

Here in Vermont the next 4 week are the best
WHAT'S HAPPENING UNDER THE ICE GUYS? Two small lakes in New Jersey I'm getting Gills to 8",Bass to 15" White Perch to 11", YPerch to 9" Crappie to 12"

Who has safe ice?

We had 1/2 inch when we woke up.  Not enough to land a dragonfly on.

Looks like the same here in NENJ Bruce. I'm not tired of watching 'River Monsters'  but would like to catch something myself . I may have to turn the boat back over ,call a buddy and do a bust thru a thin layer of ice adventure.

I love "River Monsters"!  I think we should start a thread, or even a group based on episodes of River Monsters.  :-)  Great stuff.

I envy Jeremy Wade except when he got hit in the chest with an Arapaima! I want a Koonch!

By this time last year we had plenty of safe ice and me and buddys were catching fine Gills Bass and Crappie by this time . Here's my pictorial diary: http://bigbluegill.com/photo/albums/ice-fishing-20102011

There are some guys fishing the bays of Lake Champlain but not me I am not that brave .     I don't know what they are catching.     The inland lakes here are froze I may try one of those this weekend if it does not snow
