where to go in central va

im looking for place my wife and i can catch BIG gill from the bank in augusta and albermarle counties in va.  we are both elderly and cant do boats any more and climb well so that should be taken into consideration. really would like to find a great place before the bedding season starts, thanks in advance for the help
