Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I just found some of the Mosquito hooks that have been mentioned on the site several times. The new Academy Sports and Outdoors in our area carries several sizes. I chose the #8s to try first. Let me know what to expect from this style of hook.

I like them a lot, mainly use them for dropshotting small plastics.   Very sharp and fish seemed to stay hooked.  If you're trying to pull them out of a bad snag, most of the time the hook will break, not bend.

I HAVENT SEEN THESE HOOKS YET KEITH;  LET ME KNOW HOW THEY WORK OUT

Thanks Steve, I was wondering if they would bend or break. I have been catching shell crackers in the middle of coves away from heavy cover. I think this will be the perfect hook for drop shoting night crawler chunks. I will let you know Carl when I get out to fish a little.

great hook Keith ... i have had some experience with them drop shotting for LMB and SMB... kind of similar in design of circle hooks but is incomplete form of circle.... requires less hook set force to tag a fish. i have not tried for panfish with them.

I use size 12 on 2 lb test when I'm not fishing micro. I think that's the smallest size they make.   Fish pretty much catch themselves. I've had zero deep hooks over the last three years. Most catches are in the corner of thee mouth

Joe they did have them down to #12s and I'm glad to hear they don't go deep. Slip I'm gonna try drop shotting with them tomorrow for shell crackers and I'll see if I can tell a difference between them and a conventional hook.
