Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My older brother got this magnificent 11 inch hen today as he upped his PR several times on an amazing trip.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUPER CATCH !

Thanks ya'll...indeed one of my bet-ever local trips in the Mason Dixon area. We had a total of 26 fish, so it wasn't a furoious 3 1/2 hours...we had to find them.

Jeffrey...they are still pre-spawn and far out and away from the shoreline spawning areas. Plus we found that you had to 'play the wind' to catch fish. When the wind picked up that would be the place to catch them. Don't know if they were onto wind-blown insects, forage or what, but when it was calm, it was 'dead pool'. Of the 36 fish, 23 were over 10 inches, several close to 11 and one legitimate 11 incher. Great day!
