The place i used to fish for these was covered with this tough weed that grew on the bottom everywhere... so we kept the bait just above that.

need to follow your success on hotdogs as bait. last thing ive seen caught on a hotdog was a huge soft shell turtle.

Nice one John ... was this guy supper?

No .Here's one I kept for supper though : The Brown BHead was actually 1#10 oz. I blew it inserting text in the pic. The BBH took a Hus spoon tipped with a crawler .He was competing with Gills and Crappie in a pocket out side the  weedline .I did pretty good there anchored .

Took a crawler chunk on a Marabou Jig slipfloated

nice... ill bet that fight was a surprise!

yes I was Perch fishing lol

20150830_Master Angler Yellow Bullhead

2009 Was the year I went after Bullheads to see how far into the year they could be caught with consistency . I caught them from August through December . Dressed warm and listened to Giants football out there in the dark by the dam catching little 6-10"yellow Bullheads . I use to get my 1st hits as soon as I saw the first bat the pole bell would start ringing .Here are some channel cats as well as Bullheads with friend Arty Cole , godson /nephew Tim Lawlor , nephew Orrin and brother Greg : http://bigbluegill.com/photo/albums/bullheads-and-channel-cats?xgi=...
