Deluxe Flier......three years ago............

Indeed Carl.......they have the smallest range in America of any sunfish.......I never caught any in Louisiana growing up but when I arrived in South Carolina back in 1983 I began catching them in the tidal waters and swampy regions of the low country but never caught one down there over 8 inches.........When I began fishing the Albemarle in 1999 I took several trophy fliers right away and been hooked ever since......got several places that are known for quality fliers and often give them a try .....................

well ; Jeffery to be honest; I had never even heard of a flier till I joined bbg site;; then saw you posting them !!  Im going to have to find some of those somewhere !!

Thanks Carl and Adam.........I try to get as many of my fishing guests to catch a few fliers since many people have never seen one much less catch one.........they are aggressive and addictive when you catch them trophy size like this one.....

with many congrats on getting a flier; thats big enough to get you a certificate !  I still say; its no accident you got one tho;; Jeff;; you worked hard; studying your water;; keep diaries of water condition; temp. barometric pressure; wind;; everything involved in having a successful day of fishing !!

Thanks guys........it's a beautiful certificate Carl.......one of the highlights a few years back was Jim Gronaw catching a big Flier during his visit and I sent him his citation.......really cool looking keep sake..............

Very fortunate to have an abundance in this region Dick.....I've made it a personal goal to challenge the North Carolina/World record for a Flier since I catch roughly a thousand a year........I'd love to put you on a few Dick.....
