Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Three Little Indicators I use In The Fall,,,,,,,

I have a jig and a float for reference,,,,,,these are about the size of a standard acorn,,,,,,,,sometimes yellow picks up better than orange and white.........

Placement depends on the bait Carl........tipping can actually  serve to float the smaller baits so its a finesse game.........I:m running low as I have only seen them in one shop ever...........

cool trick Jeff;;  I generaly use colored mono line; ( high viz  in yellow or green)  and keep a sharp eye out for any type of twitch.  Just might have to try your idea soon !

Now that's a new one on me...bobbers actually below the surface.

As these waters chill I try to use floats/bobbers that will just barely suspend the jig...regardless of size. I have some 1.5 in cigar shaped foam floats that will barely hold a 1/64th oz jig...a 1/32nd will sink it. As the waters continue to drop I'll downsize the jig all the way to 1/200th oz and keep the same float. Often during that time, the float will tilt up, indicating an 'up bite' as tension is released from the float.

Cool stuff!

If I was confident in using lighter line Dick I may chose not to use an indicator but these little additions help me read the sudden or even subtle movements that occur when a fish strikes on line with a minimum of 10 pound test.......it does take some getting use to since you're fishing a submerged marker but the right sunglasses and boat positioning help to minimize the negative.............amazingly high strike to catch ratio using this technique for me........
