Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I have never fished for bluegills with spoons. Are they effective from shore or are they typically jigged vertically from a boat?

I would like to get started...any recommendations for first spoons to try and where I can pick some up? I live close to Bass Pro Shops in Gurnee, IL.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, just read through several of the posts to this "Group" for a wealth of information on
your question...also check out the spooning videos on this site. I too had not used spoons
for gills before reading and seeing the information on this website..these fisherman know
the way on this topic..give the ideas offered a try...good luck and happy twitching...

Hey Bill...all of my spoonin on this freshman year have been from the shore, and I have caught some impressive fish with them. I think boating anglers may have an edge on the shoreline guy, especially when fishing larger bodies of water. Like frogg said...check out some of the stuff here and pay particular attention to what Bill 'Musky' Mod says and does as he is the 'guru' of bluegill spoonin and can teach you a bunch. Good Luck!
