Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

First time poster, long time reader. Love bluegill fishing and it is mostly all I do. I currently use a 7 foot light action bass pro micro light for most of my fishing. I do not use slip floats usually but would like to use them more. Problem is, it seems the guides on this rod are not right for the bobber stops to go through them on the cast. Can someone recommend a rod for this purpose? I am in the market now as I just recently had a long time St. Croix 5 footer break in the door of my truck. I loved that rod and had it for many years. Tiny but a great till and crappies rod that held a lot a of great memories. I do have a 5 foot ugly stick but am not realy happy with it and had earmarked that for my eight year old as I figure even he cannot break it, haha. I have looked at the St. Cross series but not sure if I want to spend that much. So looking for a 5-7 foot, UL for slip float fishing. Any thought?
Thanks,

Dave

Daiwa Spinmatic Ultralight Spinning Rods - Model: SMC702ULFS (7' 0", UL, 2 pc.) @ $34.95

interesting review on this one:
“I cut the cork butt off an 8 footer and put a Okuma Fly Reel with Drag on it with Cortland Rocket Taper Floating line. Great balance, great action, great feel. I use a barrel roll flip to put the line and bait where I want it. Best $35 I ever spent and I catch tons of trout with it. Why spend mega bucks”
The action does remind me of a fly rod.

Okuma Celilo Spinning Rods - Model: CE-S-702L-1 (7' 0", L, 2 pc.) at $26.95

i own all the models of the Okuma Celilo as well as a 7 ft and 8ft Daiwa Spinmatic.

I also slip bobber fish with the small floats using a Eagle Claw 5ft im7 blank the fun factor on this rod is 5 out of 5 stars.. Personally I would recommend buying a 7 ft as well as the 5ft er.

All  of mine are 8 footers made from lightweight fly rod blanks, both fiberglass and carbon. Prefer the longer rods for flipping lightweight slip float set ups mostly with very small jigs tipped with live bait.
