I live in tampa and hunt big gills.
Tampa eh? I'm in Tallahassee. Been catching any?
I do pretty good. Check my photos.
NICE! I'd say you do pretty good! I'm going to take my camera with me today and see if I can get a pic of a good one. I've never measured one and I'm curious now about how long they are.
Thanks. Im pretty sure yall got some monsters up there.
I love Florida , maybe some time i can retire and go down there and stay longer......
As of now i live in Kentucky and their are some good places to get panfish up here , but i have to work and any spare time i get i love to get out there and catch them panfish. They are good eating, " Thats for sure" I like to fish ponds and lakes for the most parts , but some times you will find a little place along a creek / or stream that looks like a really good spot. It's aways fun to get out side when you can ,..because it would'nt be long before it gets cold up here again and then i will be here at my PC just reading about all the fishing you guys will be doing.
Have a Great Summer.!
I also live in Tallahassee and have caught some huge 'gills in the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge. You cannot beat Tallahassee for all types of fishing. I have caught those 12" 'gills in brackish water; big crappie from Lake Talquin; 12 lb. bass from Lake Jackson; 8 lb. seatrout on the Apalachee flats; 12 lb. redfish in the St. Marks river; and even imported 10 lb. Kamloops Rainbow trout in a private pond in the winter all on a light flyrod or light spinning rod using lures. Love it!
Hi Marty, I live in Tallahassee too and have recently rekindled my passion for fishing. I've been going to Piney Z recently and have caught quite a few small bluegills up to 7 inches. I love fishing for them they put up a great battle for such a small fish and they are one of the most attractive. After reading your posts I will be heading to St Marks! Hoping to get my boat ship shape asap and am looking forward to fishing talquin, seminole and all the other great lakes we have in our area.

cheers

Andy
Andy, at Piney Z Plantation, do you fish all of the fingers on the trail going out into the lake or the first one with the dock or do you fish from a boat? I have caught some big bass out there but really woud like to find some big 'gills. I usually fish #3 or #4. Watch out for the big gators!
Where do you put in on Piney Z? How do you get there. I'd like to put my yak in there and give er a try.
You can put in at the first "finger" that goes out into the lake(not the one with the dock to the left of the swings). Just pull to the far right hand side of the drive around, park on the far right side of the swings and go through the gate. It's right in front of you at the beginning of the trail - you can't miss it. The put-in is on the right at the beginning of the finger. Good luck.
I live in Florida! I have never avidly targeted bream but have a few good ones!
