Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone have any ideas or plans for a float tube rod holder for the old style flyrod and reel set up where the rod does NOT have a rod butt sticking out beyond the reel seat?  I'm trying to plan out how to make one out of PVC for my old Fenwick fiberglass flyrods. Most newer rods have a 2" bit of rod butt that will work in most holders. I also want to have it up at a 45% angle for trolling.  Anybody?

I did something like this in the past with a fly rod with just 1" of butt:

Or, simplicity goes like this:

However, for secured design, you need to create a slot that fits just enough of the base of the fly rod, using the first design, with a shorter side slot. From there, 45° angle from your main tube's frame, and you're set.

Hey Leo thanks.  I think I with careful measurements and the use of my Dremel, I'll be able to cut and grind out a nice flyrod holder.  I really didn't think about making one out of one piece of pvc pipe, until I saw your photos.
