What a gill! Thick and round as can be. Great coloring on a classic northern strain male gill. Congrats on your catch, Ross.

That fish puts the "big" in bigbluegill.com..............love the shape.....very tall, short transition into the tail, and a tiny caudal fin.....along with a smaller eye. I'll bet that fish grew pretty quickly, and had plenty to eat. Whether that food source was natural, or artificial (pellets), the results speak for themselves.

This is my definition of a well-fed Bluegill.
