I have a light leader so when he runs the backer out they have no problem breaking off. It would be fun though just to turn one and even better to catch one on the 2wt.

Yes sir to Greg on the float tube, he was really the reason I got the 2wt. He's an all around great guy and a great source of information at least for us people starting out, If I have a question he will answer as anybody on this site will do I've found. Now I just have to get some time fishing the fly rod and quit making so many wind knot which I'm an expert at. Again thanks for the comeback take care and GOOD FISHIN....

yea if your worried about breaking the rod just use a light tippet so the fish can break off and not hurt anything ...i have ran into issues  with big carp on my 2wt when i know im in trouble i just point the rod to the fish straight and hold the line till it breaks when it runs

Thanks for the info. I have some hybrid strippers in my pond an connected a couple times with them on my 2wt. They always win. They peel my life off and I have yet to turn one and them break off. I know Greg loves his 2wt and I enjoy it but worried about breaking it they seem so flimsy but I guess that's why there called 2wts. I'll be taking it on vacation with me in July the bass I'm holding in my picture came from this lake. I'm thinking a 2wt will be out of the picture for that fish so I'll take the 4wt also. Thanks for the info.

I got a 2wt last year and it's a blast I see you use a 1wt wow I couldn't even imagine that I'd be afraid I'd break something.

yea brother  Dick they are a blast on a fly rod i do target smallies a good bit on a fly rod with  1 wt and 3 wt i wade fish the dams early in the morning with a popper then switch over to a craw pattern i tie when the sun comes up ... some mornings can be a zoo 20 fish in a 4 hour period is not uncommon with gills and rockbass tossed in the mix
