Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I would be really interested in doing a fly swap. I am thinking panfish flies. Would anybody be interested?

I like the Skunk!  Is that a woven body?

thanks, nope its woolybugger chenille wrapped then a dry fly hackle and then ultra chenille folded over.

Ok.  I've done that on a Crappie jig.

Count me in for the swap.

Hey guys just a status update. I have received flies from Bill, Allen, and Greg and they all look great. I look forward to receiving the rest of the flies.

I don't have an address to send the flies.

Send them to Bryce Maher 371 W Charleston, appt 411, Lincoln ne 68528

Thanks I will mail them in the morning

mine are going out tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Sorry if I didn't communicate my address well enough.
Mark, I received your flies today and they look great. Thanks a bunch for the popper and the bodies. Your popper looks outstanding. I have only made foam poppers before. What kind of paint do you use on the bodies?

Bryce, thanks, glad they got there so soon, just mailed them Tuesday! as far as painting the poppers I use acrylics like the kind walmart sells for around a dollar. I first prime them with gesso or coat with ca (super glue two little bottles at the dollar tree for a buck will do at least 30 poppers) which makes the wood extremely hard and durable. If I airbrush I like Createx Acrylics which are about $3 a bottle but you don't have to dilute them to make them thin enough to spray. The paint is topcoated with epoxy; 30 min epoxy is good; but when I do a batch I like envirotex lite for its very slow drying time. Kirk Dietrich has an epoxy video on you tube, where he uses a turner, but you can just flip the poppers every few minutes to keep the epoxy from sagging if you are just doing a few.
