Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone know what "Chizzy Winks" are. They are found in Fla. and they have a season on them. If the Chizzy Winks are in the Gill fishing will be unbeliveable no matter what the weather, temp or anything else. Gill slayers need to have this info.

Chizzywinks are blind mosquitoes. When the hatch is on, the bluegill are stuffing themselves.
Steve, great job. Where have you seen the hatch. I'm getting ready to head to Lake Istokpoga in Lake Placid, Fl. soon. I want to be there for the April spawn. Nothing like fishing around huge cypress trees. I'll probably flyrod most of the time but will have several backup options. Nice meeting you and where do you call home.

Thanks Robin
Steve's right... I've encountered some on Okeechobee. True 'Chizzy Winks' don't bite... but they can swarm in enormous numbers and you have to be careful not to leave your mouth open too long. When the hatch is on... so is the Bluegill fishing...
