Do you love big bluegill?
I know most of you all are focusing on Sunfish, but, just in case.....
I was in my usual hole in the river today. Caught a couple Skipjack on a Bead Chain Clouser, then noticed some stripey fish were hammering topwaters, so switched over to a Pop-R and caught a bunch.
I also caught a White Perch. These things are invasive. DO NOT RETURN THEM TO THE WATER ALIVE. They basically look like a small Sand Bass, but without the stripes. The spiny dorsal fin and the soft-rayed dorsal fin are slightly joined at the base.
They're small, about 9" or so, but tasty. Or, if you prefer, they make decent cut-bait for the bigger predators.

Tuna in a river?
Sorry, should used the complete name. Skipjack Herring. They make great cut bait for catfish.
