Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

First off I want to thank everyone here at BBG for their thoughts and prayers. I came to the hospital late yesterday afternoon for a heart check which involved running a cathator from my groin to my heart, then shooting dye into my heart and looking for any issues. My Dr. found a partial blockage in a main artery, and installed a stent in the artery. Two hours later I was up and walking the halls. Other than being a little sore I am feeling great. He said I have to cut Way Back on the biscuits and gravy, fat back, and cheeseburgers, then went on to say I need to cut back on my hours at work, and spend more time enjoying myself and  get on a exercise routine. I asked him if that ment I should fish more, and he said yes, as long as I walk to my fishing spots. lol  I am very thankful for all everyone has done for me.

It is great to hear you are up and moving around. Take care of yourself and you can get control over the prolbem. Had two stents put in Oct of 09. Didn't think I could eat fish unless it was fried...baked fish has become the norn and I still enjoy eating it!

I have got to make some lifestyle changes for sure. I am a sucker for some good fried fish, and chicken. I quit smoking three months ago, cold turkey after many years, so I guess I am hard headed enough to do whatever I set my mind to. I wonder if oven fried gills are any good?  I have made oven fried chicken which uses almost no oil, and it is not bad at all. Thanks again for your reply, Ronnie.

dad you can do it thats for sure I am so proud of you for stopping smoking now you are my incentive to quit ... Hmmmm oven fried gills idk im sure mom can make them taste good though :) just keep it up and you will be with us for a long time i love ya dad

Vince I smoked also for 36 years and was up to 2 packs a day,, have not smoked for three years, 8 months. You can do things different with eating better foods and really watch the sodium numbers in food and the cholesterol count. Get out and walk all you can, it will help lower your cholesterol.

Baked fish is very good. I put on pepper, Mrs Dash (original blend) and a little lemon juice. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Now the hard part, you can't have the whole pan of fish, just one or two fillets if small.

I'm pulling for you, Ronnie
