Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

So i picked up some braided line tonight, and i was wondering if there is anything i have to do different that will affect performance if not done properly, like knots and whatnot.  I was thinking about running a fluorocarbon leader on it.  Is that a bad idea? What would be the best way to tie it to the braid?

Good info Allen !Thanks! I have never used braided line ,but I'm all ears here!

So i learned some new knots yesterday, and spooled my reel with some 6lb test braid, with mono backing, and made some fluorocarbon leaders. It worked pretty well and the first fish i caught was at a pond i've never been to, and it was the biggest crappie i've caught in years

Attachments:

i use fireline crystal 4lb and use a sharpie and put some hashes on it cause it is not transparent.it is the thinnest line i have ever seen.i don't use a leader as even 2 lb mono is thicker and the braid will cut the mono.small side cutters or beak pliers as some call them cut well on all braid.i use the hobby bargain bin kind with no problems so far.braid also floats so i use it for leaders on my bass bugs.
