Do you love big bluegill?
Just wanted to say hey....
The Winter Striper and Sturgeon fishing in my area was tough. It started coming on strong, in October, like it usually does, and I got some good ones, including this 29.8 lb'er..... then they all just vacated :(
So after that, it turned into a long, fishless Winter.
By now, on any other year, I'd already be chasing bass (Largemouth's and Smallies) but the place I like to do thatr the most, will cost me more than $100 a day in gas, and fishing fees.... So I've been purposely lagging, so that my first trip is a great one. Can't afford the early season hit-and-miss trips. But do plan to do my first trip next week :) A 9lb Smallmouth would be nice :)
Anyway, the funny thing is, of all of the different types of fishing I do, I am looking forward to those giant sunnies again this year, more than anything else !
Going to be using my old, smaller boat + my little economy car to pull it :) {already have a hitch on it}
Come on 4lb Redear for 2012 !!! :)
Will be back here to post some pics early this Summer ;)
Great fishing to all of you :)
Peace,
Fish

We'll be looking forward to those pics Fish...Good to hear from you!
That's a great striper, Chris! The lake record at the small lake I used to work at, Piney Run, is about like that...29 lb 6 oz. It currently has a lot of 10 to 15 lbers in it.
4 pound red ear? That's crazy, but I bet you can do it! Good Luck!
Nice Striper! Biggest one I've tangled with (that I actually saw) was in the 12 lbs range.
We've had both our LMB and Smallmouth State Records broken in the past two weeks here in OK. Smallie record now stands at 8 lbs 7 oz, LMB is at 14 lbs 12.3 oz. Gives us all something to think about!
