Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Well the summer rush is over and I am looking at success and failures.

One of the successes here on Kentucky Lake was to use Gulp Alive 1"leach in black or olive. I use then as a trailer behind lots of jigs and seam to catch twice as many fish compared to no stinger and some live bait. Seems to work best when sunnies are 5' or deeper. Hard to find locally but Bass Pro has them.

Anyone else using???

Also looking for fishing friend on Kentucky Lake.

I've had alot of good results using the Gulp products......I almost always tip my jigs and beetle spins with the maggots and had a small lake that produced nice numbers on the 1" minnows....Its kind of like fish attractant to me. Don't feel it hurts me but don't always think it helps either....Go with your gut, I keep them around in my tackle boxes....

I have often thought about taking a trip to Kentucky lake. Ive heard in the spring the crapie fishing is awesome. Is this true and if so what time of year would be the best to go?

April or May when the water is above 60 for 2 or more days.

Look at  explorekentuckylake.com for lake conditions.

Try Jonathon Creek area.

Ive had very little success with them, but Ive mostly tried them, "au naturel"(if you can say that about an artificial bait). As a jig tip or trailer they might be something altogether different. Im wanting to try out the mini minnows, next.

I use them as a trailer on Breem bugs and 1/32 jigs and i think the attractant is the differance.

Use the Minnow Head, Waxies, Minnow and Cricket year around. Very good baits through the ice

i have had really good luck with these baits.i use them most of the time and year round.in north east ohio we get ice and have used them and they work.i like the small minnow ones and the leechs.

I am waiting for warm weather to try them on spooning.

Now I have to go to Florida to get more vitamin D. (sunshine)

I have been using the Gulp Alive 1 " emerald shiner on a black 1/32 oz round jighead and getting a lot of crappies at PA's Lake Marburg this December. I am tossing them on 2 pound Triple Fish green mono in and around dead and dying weedbeds. Cold front pushed 'em back on 12-8, but they should perk up again after a few days.

I have had good luck with them on crappies also.

I wonder if its the bait or the juice?

Do you or any one in the club know if there is any differences in Burkley Gulp used for crickets, crappie bites, worms, minnows, worms, maggots etc.

I use Gulp maggot, wax and few other that I caught lot of bluegills, crappies and some bass. Only one thing I dont like is my hands smell from Gulp. One time spilled in my tacklebox by accident.... smell eeewww and not easy to clean up! I love Gulp in Florida for big bluegills!
