Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These shiners are killing the crickets when fished near the grass beds in these lakes.

Beautiful Bass Bill and it was caught on one of the Big Golden Shiners I take it. We would fish Crappie in the Winter back home in Louisiana in the deepest parts of Toledo Bend Reservoir with shiners suspended in 30 to 50 feet of water and often caught the best bass of the year on big shiners that would get mixed in at the bait vendor. Thats a very healthy bass for the winter season, good stuff!

My local lake is about 70 acres......every year  thru the ice we catch several 8-12" golden shiners......we also catch some very large bass.

They're related to minnows, I think?

Big shiner and fun to catch!

We call 'em golden shiners, or mill roach.
