Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Our friend "Marisa" from BigBluegill is about to go on a bluegill adventure to Lake Havasu, Arizona.  Would anybody out there like to kick in a suggestion or two?  Thanks!

Have visited there but not fished it. Stripers are the big draw in the lake. Be sure to vistit the original London Bridge which was dismantled in England and moved to Havasu and reconstructed. My Oregon salmon fishing buddy lived at Lake Havasu until he convinced his bride to move to Oregon fulltime.

Yep.2lb is right. This lake is a mecca for California boaters. Forgot to mention that. You will have to hunt a quiet spot to fish. London Bridge still worth a look though.

I'm from Arizona and your better off checking out Parker Strip on the Colorado below Lake Havasu dam, their are 1/2 pound shellcrackers in there. You will need a good trolly motor though, good luck Marisa!

My Dad And I Are Going Out There In May Were Hoping Someone Can Help Us With A Few Tips And A Few Areas In Lake Havasu To Hit Up  To Catch Some Bluegill And Redears !(:

You folks are the best!  That's when BigBluegill really shines...when we can help a young angler out!
Hey again Marisa did you get my tip, im from Arizona to & would like to help, i sent you a friend reguest, but havent heard from you, well ttly.
No What Was Your Tip ? Where In Arizona Do You Fish ?. Im All Over Lake Havasu !
I live in tucson, and fish a lake called Patagonia, many species of sunfish here, look at my profile pic, my tip was to try parker strip it is right below lake havasu, very close to you, the only thing that separates it is the dam, ive seen 1 and 2 pound sunfish from there, its really worth a try.
Hey I Have Been To Tucson ! (: Ohh Very Cool Ill Have To Tell My Dad That Tip ! I'll Make Sure To Try To Get Over There . A Chance To Get A Big Bluegill , I Would Never Pass It Up.

WELL ALL THIS IS A FEW MONTHS LATE BUT HERE IS A RESPONSE. YEP IN SOME SENSE YOU ARE ALL RIGHT AS FAR AS THE OUT OF AREA BOATERS BUT, LAKE HAVASU IS 28 MILES LONG AND THEY MOSTLY OCCUPY THE UPPER 3 AND LOWER THREE MILES SO THAT LEAVES 22 MILES WHERE ALMOST NO ONE FISHES OR BOATS. I HAVE NEVER EVER ANYWHERE IN MY LIFE SEEN BLUEGILL BIGGER THAN WHAT COMES OUT OF THIS LAKE, IT IS INCREDIBLE TO BE ABLE TO CONSISTENTLY CATCH BLUEGILL OVER 1.5 TO 2 POUNDS. MY NEIGHBOR JUST YESTERDAY CAUGHT A 3+ POUNDER ON A BASS CRANKBAIT. COME, HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE WARM SUMMER WATER.

PARKER IS AWESOME BUT TO BE HONEST I HATE HAVING TO FIGHT THE CURRENT CONSTANTLY AND THE RIVER THERE IS AT BEST 300 YARDS WIDE WITH BOATS GOING FULL OUT ON THE EAST SIDE HEADED NORTH AND FULL OUT ON THE WEST SIDE GOING SOUTH. IN HAVASU IN THE SUMMER THE WEEKENDS ARE CARZY BUT THE LAKE IS ALMOST EMPTY DURING THE WEEK.

EMAIL ME AT DCP1@NPGCABLE.COM FOR MORE INFO IF YOU WANT TO COME OUT.
