Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The best bluegill bait I have used is wild hog meat. One piece will catch 10  to 12 bluegill. Works for me better than worms or crickets or anything esle

I used to use Hotdogs when I was a kid.  I seem to remember the 'gills were stripping the hook a lot.  However, in hindsight, it might have been me using floats that were to bouyant.

Bob

3/4 inch dia. cut, then cut into fours. I use the dollar store brands. Two dogs will usually yield about 60 - 70 pieces. More than enough for a day on the water.

I have used hotdogs also. Worms or crickets are just too much trouble for me and they are east to get off.  I have caught a lot of catfish on wild hog meat also.

Best bait I use for Gills is simple hotdogs. I'm amazed at how they will hit the bait. I use a #10 aberdeen hooks and 2 # test on a 9 foot Mr. Crappie telescopic pole. I do about 1/2 my fishing in that mannor.
