CJ;; I agree with you buddy;; in fly; or jig tying;; the actual cost of;; a vise; bobbins; thread; amterial; ( and you never have enough; or the right kind ) the actual cost of a fly or jig; would be staggering to those not knowing;;; then again;; we have the oppertunity to create something of our own design; rather than some company ; making what they T H I N K will work in all areas of the country. And; like you said;; to make something of your own design;; its just a extra bit of fun should it actually work ! just think;; if there was only one fly or jig; that actually worked; all across the country; in any weather;; then you would only need that one fly or jig !!
Nothing is truer than your statement that if your tying flies to save money you are doing it for the wrong reason and you will never save money (if you are honest). I truly enjoy tying and catching fish on MY
fly. I've got my cost down to about $5.00 each. Remember this cost is figured with free labor.
thanks John, yup should be killer on a jig head too.
that's a great video...i'm going to buy some more leg material in different colors, but i will likely tie it on a jig head, should work great.
Mike it does look like that but when I made it that wasn't my intention that's just the way it turned out. Its an easy fly to tie and with it you can wrap lead around the hook shank for weight and get a decent fall rate but for finesse fishing I would add vary little weight for a slow fall rate.
thats great looking Dick, looks like its tied like a jig skirt.
thanks David, I used to be on here a lot more a year ago, but just kind of stopped coming around as much, I have a lot to keep up with online with my youtube and facebook, but I am hoping to check in a lot more.
Well Mike welcome to the site and hope ya keep posting video's .........
HOPE YOU become a regular contributor , we need all the tying instructions we can get !!!!
