At 8:50 pm 4/23/14 Hacy Wright, Dick thanks for the welcoming letter, so far the website looks packed with info, very excited about learning new tactics to catch GILLS.
Thank you for the welcome. I've been visiting this site for about a year and really enjoy it. I've got to get me digital camera. No smart phone. I hope to post a few pic when I can.
Thank you for the warm welcome sir. It is a wonderful site. I ve been cruzzin' the site so to speak checking it out. There is a wealth of information here that will take a while to sifer through. Been a long time since I've been fishing, and am looking forward to getting back out there again. I will post all the info I can on such expeditions as they occur. Looking forward to enjoying tnis wonderful site and sharing what I can. Tight lines to you sir. Eric
Hi Dick, I have actually been on before and signed up lost track of my sin in and Password. It was just as easy to sign up again as it was to go back and forth to get my old sign on and then password. Bruce had posted on PB where I go most of the time but I will continue to come back here much more often. Work and other responsibilities limit my time on the computer other than work. When I am home I try not to even turn on my computer because so much of my time on the job requires my eyeballs glued to a computer screen, if you know what I mean.
With the addition of a well last year my pond world has improved a great deal. As well last year (Fall) Overton Fisheries supplied me with 400 Jumbo Overton Select CNBG and I am excited to see what the growth rate is this year. They have a great and deserved reputation for many reasons in TX.
Thanks again for the invite and you were the first or very close the last time I signed up. Take care and great fishing to you.
Dick: Will do. I have a ZILLION pics of our fish (I say our as I am married and my wife loves to fish as much as i do) and Five kids, all of them love to fish as well, and I have 4 grand kids and counting I hope because spoiling then is soooo much fun LOL, and every one of them love to fish as well. We started teaching my kids and grandkids how to fish from before they could even walk very good. I just wish the zillion pics had pics of BIGGER fish LOL.....This attached pic is of me and my "baby" Freddy when he was about 3 or 4, and he is now 20 yrs old. Chuck
Dick: Thanks a lot. I too, am after Bluegills. BIG Bluegillls if/when I can find them. I'm pretty lucky to live in the state of AL, which has held the world's record of 4 pounds 12 oz since 1950 in a pond just about 60 miles from my house. Biggest I have ever caught was a 2 pounder, so i guess that world record is safe around me, but you never know. I fish almost exclusively with fly rods, and tie my own flies, and I fish almost exclusively for bluegill since my part of the country has no trout, and even if it did I'd still go after the big bluegills because IMHO ounce per ounce, pound per pound, they fight harder than anything that swims. Mainly because of their "hubcap" shape and when they turn sideways in the water, you think you are hung n the bottom LOL..I had PLANNED top get out on the water today, but the wind is blowing 35mph, and it would just blow my fly line every which way but straight. Maybe tomorrow or the next day it will calm down. Thanks again, Chuck
Thanks Dick! Happy to be here. I grew up fishing for bluegill with my Grandfather-RIP, and they have always held a special place in may heart b/c of that. Glad I found BBG. Was so excited today after finding BBG, I went out and caught a few. Gorgeous afternoon here in SC!
I live right on a channel at GLSM. We have always called march 15 opening day of Crappie season......well, there is still over a foot of ice on the lake...might be delayed a little bit...lol
Thanks for the welcome, with my recent relocation I'm back in the land of Smallies, Largemouth, Pike and big bream all around. Definitely will be many pictures as soon as the water thaws and I can wet a line again.
Thanks for the welcome! I found this site on a friends facebook, Randy Budzynski, I love Bluegills and pans in general so figured I would join. Good Fishing Friend.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to looking at all the good stuff on here...
