Thanks for the welcome. My wife and I both love to fish for bluegills. Actually we just like to fish but gills are our favorite. We have a fishing organization called FishinPals and hold several events each year (past 11 years) and bluegills are generally the target fish. We have kids of all ages (3 to 90) attend and they have fun catching the bluegill. Plan on visiting the site often. Found out about the site sometime ago while searching out big bluegills on goggle.

I fish with a couple of rods I have had for many years, nothing fancy, in fact some of them came from the local flea market.Once I paid more for the line than I paid for the rod and reel. I have really enjoyed reading this site. Thanks for the warm welcome. Thanks, George

Hello Dick
Thanks for the welcome message. I just like to fish for just about anything that bites. I live in central Texas with lakes and rivers close by and 4 grandkid's that like to fish. For me the lowly bluegill is as a bait fish for catching big catfish. It is easy here to turn 2 to 8 ounce bluegill into allot bigger fish to eat. So I hope I want get kicked of the forum because of that fact. This may have just changed because I gave my oldest grandson a fly rod setup for Christmas. I plan on learning to catch bluegill on the fly along with him, should turn out to be a great adventure. Thanks for the warm welcome.
