Texas River Bum Double Haul Master's Tournament.

Last weekend was the TRB Master's tournament that me and a buddy of mine made it into. Woke up at 5 to be at the pre tournament briefing and to pick out our boats and the stretch of water we fished. Me and my buddy had the same stretch of water at the South Llano river state park. We make it there and get on the water around 8:30. A cold front rolled in the night before, and by the time we made it to the water it was about 44 degrees with 15 mph winds. The odds were definitely not in our favor. But somehow I managed to get luck, and caught several Guadalupe bass, my first channel cat on the fly, which happened to be the first fish on a new fly I tied up, and several red breast sunnies. After a long day of fishing, we made it back to the tent with about 20 minutes to spare.  After all the other fisherman returned there was about a 30 minute wait before they announced the winners, and I after getting quite lucky with all of those fish I managed to snag 2nd place!

the way all tournaments should be.some of the public water by me has a i bass over 18 inches is all you can keep site rule.i don,t keep bass unless they are belly hooked badly or just are not gonna make it.but if i choose to keep a bass on a ery popular lake i can only keep 1 fish.it must be over 18 inches.but you can keep 6 in your livewell all day if you are in 1 of the weekly tournaments.these are money tournaments.if your in the bass club that tears all over the lake at 60 mph and casts right on top of where iam fishing you can have 6 bass in your livewell.they catch me with 6 i am appearing in court.sold my boat

I like the idea of a time stamped SD card. It's probably how all the C&R tourneys do it, but first time I've heard it.

Also, the water opened up in a few spots and got quite deep in a lot of places.

Thanks guys! It was a catch and release tournament, so you had to take photos of the fish on the Hawg Trough measuring board and provide them with the SD card of the camera at the end. And they had the river divided up into sections that we picked randomly so we all weren't fishing the same stretch. There were only six of us and they shuttled some of the dudes that didn't have trucks to haul the boats, and everyone just had to be back at six oclock.

Congrats on the 2nd place! How the heck did they monitor you guys in such a huge, or rather long, locale like that? The water seems a bit shallow as well.
