River , I use them jigs in the summer and they work good
Most of them are various northland jigs i bought..LurePartsOnline.com has some unpainted ice jigs and i think at smacktackle.com you can have custom molds made
Are there any molds available to make those heads or do you all buy them???
Holy smoke! Great arsenal.
Mainly this time of year I run mousses and spikes. We are mainly finding bluegill with this set up. As winter progresses we are finding the bite get pretty light so this set up seems to do the best for us. Also with this set up we don't have the jig spinning as much when we get down to the fish. If we get any spin on the jig the fish will look at it and then leave. Now remember we start ice fishing up here just before thanksgiving and will get to fish till well into march. So as the season gets longer the bite gets lighter and if you have to run light line and small bait.
Kirk-Thanks for posting !I want to try a nice rod like that.I imagine that small size jig helps you catch a greater number of fish .What species do you catch on those tiny jigs? What bait do you tip with ?
Nice set up! Havent bought any fiskas stuff yet.Ive been using 4 lb test should go to 2.Theres anywhere from 1-4 inches on some lakes and heard of about 4 people going through already.Snow messed the ice up'.I wouldnt know what to do with 12-14 inches.Well i guess id be panfishing everyday!!!! Warmer temps this week so i might have to wait till round two.Last year we had no ice.
Been on the ice since week of thanksgiving in North Dakota and Minnesota. We've been driving on 14 to 18 inches of ice this week. We use a bunch of Fiska Jigs that are 4mm 14 hook size. The tungsten lets you run smaller hooks and still get to the bottom. WE run Jonttu palm rods and 1 and 2lb ASSO Micron 3 line. Real fine stuff.
Most of those look very familiar!
I use to fish Marmooskas allot in Wisconson when I live there in the 80's and the were great.
