Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

For the past month now, I've been hitting yellow perch pretty well.

With the mild winter we had in CT, I was fishing open water at local ponds in February and kept hitting yellow perch from 6" to chubby 8" all with 7cm Rapala Original Floaters. My main colors were Firetiger and any pearl silver, white, or grey instead of your usual silver black.

Also caught a nice 8.5" bluegill pumpkinseed hybrid last month.

Now that trout season has ended in CT, I haven't been able to hit the ponds where I was getting the perch. But today I hit the same private residential lake that I was catching those bulls at last year. All in 1 area where a brook feeds into a cove, I hit a total of 15 yellow perch from 7" to chubby 9" just under a pound. All came on a 4cm silver shad Rapala Jointed Shad Rap.

This was one of them I hit back in February
