Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Jim, by the time I got off the tractor it was nearly dark, but I managed a few minutes at one of the ponds. I know they're not hybrids, (well, I guess two of em' are!) but will these work??

Can't wait to give your jigs a proper shakedown... Thanks again my friend!

No problems Jim. I did flatten the barb about halfway through, though. One of the hybs took it a little deeper than the rest, so i didn't want to take any chances. I feel comfortable with all the fish released, I don't think there will be any issues.

Tony...glad to see they scored for you. Did you have any issues with the larger hybrids taking the jigs too deep? Usually, I have found that anything smaller than 1/32 oz is potentially dangerous in the form of deeply hooked fish, especially fish that run 9.5 inches and larger. Some of the 11 inch plus hybrids I catch locally just take the smaller ones to deep for safe release.

Suzanne, this jig is the work of our own Jim Gronaw, you'll have to ask him about a tutorial....

Leo....yep, that's one of my slip floats in the pic. Water depth was 12', and I was getting fish with the jig suspended at about 6-7'....they're moving deeper.

More pics from today:

Wow, who made that jig? -and- are there "how to's" available?

Nice. Did you use the jig on a slip bobber method? How deep did you go down to Tony?
