Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Jim Gronaw must surely be accustomed to wearing many hats.....husband, father, grandfather, talented outdoor writer, angler extraordinaire, and last but certainly not least, one of our very own moderators, right here at http://bigbluegill.com/ !

Residing in Westminster, MD., You're liable to find Jim Gronaw either casting a line at one of several local hotspots, or busily putting the finishing touches on his latest outdoor themed article. Jim's work appears regularly in the Carrol County Times, under the heading of "Tight Lines". You may also find his work, including his amazing photographic talents, frequently gracing the pages of prestigious outdoor magazines such as In-Fisherman, Outdoor Life, Fishing Facts, and Sports Afield.

Jim was born in Baltimore, MD., in 1952. His first published work came at the young age of 16, in Fishing World magazine. Since then, he has been published over 700 times at the local, regional, and national level.

Here at http://bigbluegill.com/ we are fortunate to be able to count Jim Gronaw as one of our own. He brings a lifetime of outdoor experience to our online family, and his willingness to share and participate enriches each and every one of us.

I had the distinct pleasure of hosting Jim back in late October for a late fall weekend on the Albemarle of North Carolina......We were confronted by challenging conditions but we caught fish all three days and more importantly we got to talk fishing and what a wealth of knowledge and experience Jim has......It was like I knew him my entire life.......he's got the "F" factor going on......faith, family, fishing, friendship and fun.........He also creates some of the best jigs I've ever seen or had the pleasure to fish......I seek out his articles now and enjoy them every one.......There may be a guy with as much knowledge as Jim.....but I doubt they give back as much! We are very fortunate that he is an active member on Bigbluegill.com.......Thanks Jim

Jim displays some solid Black Crappie from the coastal marsh of North Carolina back in late October....

A highlight of our trip was Jim's personal best Flier caught on the Little River in Northeast North Carolina....Here's hoping we'll get to share the water in 2014.......

I enjoy Jims' stories and articles very much. My favorite and most inspirational is The GIFT FROM A SON, it can be found here on BBG.

I had never heard of Mr. Gronaw before this, but I found those articles fascinating. I would definitely like to read more of what he has written.
