Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hi everybody. I'm new to this site. Mike was the one who told me about it. I fish both fresh and saltwater but concentrate of freshwater mostly. I enjoy catching just about every freshwater fish out there in CT, including suckers. Lures I'm big on when it comes to sunfish and panfish are Rapalas. I also enjoy using the Ajusta Bubble with a fly whenever I'm just going for sunfish. The biggest bluegill I have ever caught was 10 inches long weighing 13 ounces. Caught it with a Rebel Teeny Wee Crayfish at my favorite bluegill grounds in CT. I also ice fish during the winter. My favorite part about ice fishing is jigging for panfish. The lure I like the most for ice fishing jigging is the Rapala Jigging Rap, which I have caught tons of crappie, yellow perch, and bluegills with, including some pumpkinseeds and rock bass.

So once I get back out for a day of fishing on the ice I'll put up a report to say how well I did with sunfish and other panfish.

Welcome to Michael.  Michael lives on the other end of CT, but I knew he loved catching Bluegill, so I mentioned the site to him at a fishing banquet recently.  He loves fishing and Bluegill as much as we do.  I hope he catches some good ones and posts the pics.
