Do you love big bluegill?
Recapping one my fastest and most-scientfic early Springs ever near home is best done by the numbers. 112 - number of fish caught on maggots vs. 35 fish caught using GULP in the shootout experiment. 224 fish I would have had if I hadn't used artificial baits that day. 22,000 grubs ordered for events, club fishing and my fishing for early Spring - they're on their way. 5 - the number of trout I will be after Saturday. 3,000 is the number of fish I set my goal for catching this season. 756 is my current catch for 2012 and fresh bait on the way.
I want to run a fundraiser for pediatric cancer and there are a couple other numbers I want to post up there. I need some help from local park districts, businesses and municipalities - I would love to raise $10,000 fishing 24 hours and getting people to pledge 1 cent per fish... stay tuned. This is a number I really want.

I scored my 5 trout Saturday ++...
I also got my 3 brand new anglers to catch 4 trout as well as a family next to me who I hooked up with 6 that their kids reeled in on my setup. They had zero trout when I thought they could use some action for the kids.
I ended up hooking up on 30 trout while teaching so I was happy with the result-
I also was very happy because the second half of the day I was fishing a porcupine quill and it rocked. I took the quill into Sunday's fishing and scored 7 more trout (limit 5 per customer) when the 4 guys around me had 2 fish combined...
A single maggot was the ticket... also the single maggot took out the Powerbait to the left of me and on the right which had only 1 fish vs. the spikes (( 7 )))... Another victory for natural baits.
Add the numbers .01 / 10,000 / 24 / 3,000 to my numbers above. More good numbers yet to come... I might say that all but 35 of those fish were caught using spikes... so 721 fish on spikes ... 35 on Gulp.
Wow!
