Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I work at one of the Georgia State hospitals. This particular facility has a nice 3 acre pond on the premises and I never took it seriously until last Saturday. I had to work, and decided to pick up a container of wigglers on the way in. I figured what the heck, I'll give it a try when I get off about 4:00 P.M. Well, to my surprise, I started catching some nice gills in the 7" to 9" range. I was fishing from the bank and flipping bait around 10' out. It seemed on every cast, I was getting hit. Ended up with 26 keepers, and a lot more thrown back. It was chilly and windy, but the gills didn't seem to care. Lots of fun!! Nick.

October 18 was the dark of the moon. A New Moon. You might want to remember that. I seem to always do better around the Dark Moon. Especially if I actually get to go fishing then.

Is fishing at work legal? "Cause I used to have a bed at work and that was ok. They wouldn't let us go fishing though. We could talk about it, just like here. They might have been pullin' a fast one on us. Management!!!!!!

Is that a mental hospital, 'cause those gills are crazy! Only crappie bite this time of year! Throw 'em back before they drive you crazy too. Now if you had caught 'em on crickets. Those would be your normal sane southern gills. Unless they were Shellcrackers! They like worms better. Now I'm going fish crazy. Where exactly is that hospital? I need an examination of that pond.
